THE PAIN MANAGEMENT CENTER

Nerve Root Block

Nerve root injuries can be caused by whiplash or hyperextension injuries or herniated discs. The site of the injury can be localized by electrodiagnostic testing (EMG). Injections of steroids and local anesthetics into nerve roots of specific areas, such as the shoulder, can provide relief of pain that can last as further healing takes place.

The team of pain specialists at The Pain Management Center work together with each patient to make a specific diagnosis and to create and implement an individualized, step-wise program of support and treatment.
